About Link Directories Today

As with anything, the way the internet has evolved has of course brought a wide variety of flavors in all existing areas of life. Web Link Directories, as the original resource for searching, has evolved to become a mere SEO tool for backlink popularity. Search engines, with automatic crawlers and algorithms have replaced the manual editing and processing of web resources available at the first emerged Web Link Directories.

As web link directories took a different place in the eyes of consumers, it attracted the profitable and promising market in which it fell, "internet marketing"; building links to please Google and the others. Web Link Directories are no loger an option to find valuable and relevant Web Sites.

Ok, I get that; in fact, when I started doing internet marketing Web Link Directories were already an accessory of SEO and SEM. The problem is that with the proliferation of these entities (which appear to emerge on a minute basis), we have completely forgotten the concept for which directories once emerged. I mean, I can surely understand that we all know Web Directories are for SEO, but can we also provide a service to internet readers and consumers?

Today, you see hundreds of link directories with names, design and content that clearly suggest that the regular consumers are not their thing. They are here to please SEO. Well, that's a shame; because as much as we know that readers go to search engines to find relevant content, these search engines in many cases pass the ball to those link directories as they position themselves high in rank.

You can clearly see that names such as "LinkHereForFree.com" or "GetYourPRLink.net" have no interest in offering good resources to those consumers who arrive to them with no intention to market a site. You will see website listings in them with information about Google PageRank, Alexa Ranking and Votes. They tipically accept just any low quality uninformative and senseless website published simply for adSense without offering any service.

Who cares about the ranking of other sites, or how low/high the rank in Alexa? Who Cares? Why not design a website which can provide a service to both the SEO/SEM market as well as general internet consumers? Woudln't that give us a sharper edge?

Well, I guess that is what makes THIS directory a different one.
